The city was awarded a $145,000.00 Grant through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for the purchase of equipment to be utilized for the Public Works Department. The grant initially was submitted for the purchase of a bucket truck, but the current City Manager requested an amendment to purchase equipment needed more urgently for the Public Works daily operations in the community.
- The City of Lake Butler received the approved reimbursement in the amount of $108,700.00 on March 6, 2025, and the grant has been officially closed.
- USDA submitted the documents and closing paperwork to the State office for approval on March 5, 2025.
- Invoices for the equipment, official grant closing documents, and all requested supporting documentation was provided to the USDA Rural Development Community Programs Loan Specialist on March 4, 2025.
- Letter received on October 24, 2024, from USDA to amend grant CFDA #10.766 to allow The City of Lake Butler to purchase a van, panel pump with trailer, towable lift and other miscellaneous equipment needed more urgently than the bucket truck.
- The City of Lake Butler submitted a request September 18, 2024 to amend Grant CFDA #10.766.
- City Commissioners approved the purchase of a bucket truck during the Public Hearing held on July 21, 2022.
- Grant Agreement CFDA #10.766 with the United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development Community Facilities was fully executed with The City of Lake Butler June 2022.
