Kimberly “Kim” Hayes was appointed to serve as City Manager in January 2024.  Mrs. Hayes is a Bradford High School Graduate and has worked for the Department of Corrections for over 27 years.  Kim recently served as a Director of Union County Solid Waste Department for 5 years.  Mrs. Hayes and her husband Dale have been married over 30 years and have 2 children and 4 grandchildren.  When Kim is not working, she enjoys cooking, gardening and working with her animals, but her greatest joy is spending time with her grandchildren.

Making healthy trees and green space a priority in Lake Butler has allowed the city to become a Tree City USA. Having beautiful trees is not only a benefit to residents but encourages return tourism, supports conservation of energy and water, and can help tame stormwater in some areas. Lake Butler is proud to be a member to Tree City USA. To find out more information about this program and how you can contribute, please visit the Arbor Day Foundation’s website.
